Do you suffer from anxiety, chronic stress, or depression? Or do you just find it hard to fall asleep at night? Yoga could be the answer. (...)

Do you suffer from anxiety, chronic stress, or depression? Or do you just find it hard to fall asleep at night? Yoga could be the answer. The practice of yoga works to connect the mind, body and spirit through breathing exercises, physical poses, and meditation. This unique combination of relaxation, physical exercise, and discipline can be the key to helping you improve your overall health, concentration, and ability to relax and release stress and anxiety.

So, how does it work? While any moderate exercise is known to be good for treating depression and anxiety, yoga is unique in that it promotes flexibility in the joints and muscles, provides strength training, and incorporates regular meditative practice into each workout. At the end of a yoga class you might find yourself feeling, light, free, and relaxed, and the benefits only start there.

Yoga and Anxiety Disorder Treatment

Yoga together with anti-anxiety medication can be the perfect mind-body approach to help you gain control of your life again. Yoga can help you learn to focus your concentration on immediate tasks, not on stressors, and can teach controlled breathing by connecting breathing with body movement. This promotes calmness and is very effective in treating anxiety. That along with regular meditation can help you learn to release yourself from negative thinking.

Try an anti-anxiety medication such as Klonopin, Ativan, or Xanax. These work by entering the central nervous system, effecting chemicals in the brain that can produce stress, nervousness, tension, and insomnia. They enhance the body’s natural calming chemicals.

Yoga and Depression

Regular yoga workouts can work wonders in improving your mood and lifting depression. In addition to releasing negative energies and providing regular physical activity, yoga classes can be a good way of increasing social interactions and avoid feelings of isolation.

If you are suffering from depression, consider combing you yoga practice with a depression medication. Buy Paxil, Prozac, or Zoloft, depression medications that together with regular yoga workouts can help improve your mood.

Memory loss is one very obvious precursor to Alzheimer’s Disease, but it’s not the only one. People who end up developing Alzheimer’s get their fair share of warnings signs and symptoms. It is not a condition that generally develops overnight, nor does it sneak up over time unnoticed. One of the reasons why Alzheimer’s Disease is so devastating, is that people generally see it coming and, at least at the very early onset of Alzheimer’s, are aware that their minds have begun to deteriorate.

At the first signs of memory loss (usually that’s the harbinger to Alzheimer’s) a person should seek medical attention. Your doctor may decide that you’re ready to buy Reminyl, or begin other forms of therapy (drug therapy or otherwise).

The signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease (not including memory loss) include:

• Language difficulties—forgetting the names of simple objects or forgetting how to pronounce certain words.
• Difficulties with common tasks, like bathing, cooking, or cleaning up.
• Forgetting where you are in time and space—a sudden lapse in orientation, not knowing where you are or what time or year it is. Suddenly not recognizing the people around you.
• Decreased abilities in abstract thinking and reduced mathematical abilities. This could include an inability to balance a checkbook or add up simple sums at a grocery store.
• Poor judgment—dressing for the wrong weather, saying inappropriate things, etc.
• Extreme mood swings over a short period of time.
• Misplacing items in odd places, like putting the telephone in the fridge.
• Changes in behavior and personality. Acting peculiarly and just not like oneself can be a sign of Alzheimer’s, particularly acting confused, defensive, and suspicious.
• Delusions—usually that someone or mistreating them or stealing from them.
• Hallucinations—seeing and hearing things that are not present.
• Lack of interest and withdrawal from social situations.
• Aggression—both verbal and physical.
• Decreased use of fine motor skills—this occurs generally as the disease progresses, but not in the earlier stages.

As people age, their memories begin to fail them in one way or another. (...)

As people age, their memories begin to fail them in one way or another. Whether it’s forgetting where they parked the car, how old they are, whether or not they locked the door before they left the house, or other minor instances of forgetfulness, as men and women reach their 60s, 70s, and beyond, they’re bound to begin forgetting some things. If you are in your 60s or 70s and have begun forgetting certain things, do not worry—this does not mean that you have Alzheimer’s Disease. Here are some ways to distinguish between regular forgetfulness and more serious memory loss which could develop over time into Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.

Someone who experiences normal forgetfulness may forget:
• Where the car is parked in a large parking lot.
• A person’s name—though the face will be recognizable and the name will probably come within a few minutes or later that day.
• Events (either personal or historic) from a long time ago.
• Details of an experience (in the recent or distant past).
• Where a certain object was left, like the car keys, a cell phone, or a wallet—things that are generally not kept in one particular spot.

Someone who experiences true memory loss may forget:
• How to drive a car.
• A person’s name and face—they may act as though they’ve never met a family member or close friend.
• A complete memory (in the recent or distant past).
• How to read a clock.
• That they are in the middle of doing something, like cooking, or having a conversation.

At the first signs of memory loss, you should go immediately to their doctor to rule our serious conditions like Alzheimer’s. Your doctor may recommend that you take an anti-Alzheimer’s drug like Reminyl, which has proven success in prolonging the progression of the disease. When memory loss accompanies changes in behavior and personality, then more serious measures should be taken including medication and observation.
